Wanted in 1800 by
Donna Catherine Annonj as a gift to
Count Enrico Carrara, her spouse and direct descendant of the family of Carraresi of
Padua, the Villa was first summer and then permanent residence of the noble family. In its rooms and its rich furnishings still live the atmosphere of the years in which the house was a meeting place for artists, scientists and intellectuals, whom the Carrara loved to house in and support.
